CURRENT
OBJECTIVES:
• To continue my life’s work as an artist, illustrator
and designer.
• To receive gallery representation Seattle, Washington
and Santa Fe, New Mexico.
• To continue to develop my equestrian educational center
which is now incorporating The Nia Technique for equestrians.
• To continue teaching The Nia Technique (2004 certified
instructor) www.niaseattle.com at community centers, fitness clubs
and at my own studio.
• To continue my active involvement in community volunteer
endeavors.
QUALIFICATIONS
My professional art career spans 27 years as a fine artist, illustrator,
graphic designer, web designer, art director, and college art
instructor. I offer a wide range of artistic expertise as well
as teaching, leadership and team building skills. I have been
a horsemanship instructor for the past eight years and a Nia Technique
instructor since January 2004. All three avenues, art, movement
and equestrian education, have brought me immense satisfaction
and success.

The
United Nations and Nobel Peace Prize display of Austin
Community College’s student work and City of Seattle’s
Art in Public Places installation.
In response to the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, one week later I
assigned my college students an assignment to design counter-terrorism posters
with a global message and with the United Nations as their imaginary client.
Upon completion, posters were requested by The United Nations to be displayed
in the General Assembly Lobby and to be a part of a UN international traveling
poster show where they were displayed in Oslo, Norway to commemorate the 100th
anniversary of The Nobel Peace Prize. In addition, posters were displayed at
Austin City Hall as a part of the city’s Art in Public Places program.

Prize, Stokes awards team member
I participated and contributed as the lead breaking news graphics
journalist on Seattle Times Pulitzer Prize award-winning team
reporting on Exxon Valdez oil spill as well as graphics coordinator
on Seattle Times Stokes Award and Pulitzer Prize award-winning
special report on oil tankers. |

I was awarded a teaching excellence award for my work with Austin Community College
illustration students from The National Institute for Staff and Organizational
Development (NISOD). |

City of Seattle Arts Commission Artist in the Schools
Grant
I was awarded grant to teach illustration for one year at
Cleveland High School, Seattle, Washington. The program I
designed for the students was a combination of drawing skills
sponsored by Betty Edwards, author of “Drawing on the
Right Side of Your Brain” and the history racial stereotypes
in art. Students’ assignment was to draw upon their
own experiences of discrimination and create an illustration
along with a story, poem or rap song. |

dance and opera, reading, traveling, and spending quality
time with family and friends. |
