Greetings Nia Community,
Spring is finally happening at Blue Heron
Ranch - trees in flower, pastures lush, horses
shedding their winter coats and barn swallows have
returned to make their nests. This month we are
celebrating two very
important
anniversaries. I taught my first Nia class on Monday,
April 12th, 2004 at The Yoga Barn in Issaquah. And
we officially opened the on April 10th, 2005. To
celebrate I am offering significant discounts on
Saturday classes
for you at the bottom of this newsletter. Be sure to print
and bring the coupons in!

Nia dedicated to my Mom
Gratitude for a supportive Nia community
On Thursday March 20th upon returning from her
funeral in Los Angeles I
dedicated my Nia class to
Irene Klein, my Mother, whose life ended on March
14th. She would have tuned 80 on May 17th.
The
aftermath has proven to be an unfamiliar journey for
me filled
with important lessons about my own vulnerability,
emotions, self
love and healing as well as
the balance role that death plays in the cycle of this
beautiful life.
Thanks to all of you for your sincere friendship, the
beautiful
cards, poetry, special
emails, lovely flowers and constant participation in Nia
during this time.
Special thanks to Gayle Holeton who
has subbed
classes for me allowing me to take the break I finally
realized that I needed. I will be back to teaching Nia at
9:30 a.m. on Thursday April 17th.

Moving BIG!
Sammamish Review covers Blue Heron Ranch hosting Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Puget Sound
On Saturday March 1st 25 Bigs and Littles came
to experience Nia. We danced for FRIENDSHIP
celebrating our
relationships with our Bigs and Littles.
The Sammamish Review also came and covered the
event with a big photo spread.
I've been a Big Sister for nine years. My Little,
Sierra is graduating the program this year as she's 18.
Being a Big has been rewarding and fun.

On the road to Black Belt: What's next?
Stay tuned for lots of pleasurable fitness play
In preparation for my Nia Black Belt certification, which
I will earn in July, we went on a thirteen week principle
journey,
holding the focus of
one principle a week from January 4th through April
4th. Many of you have asked, what's next?
We will go even deeper into Nia's Creative Pleasure
Journey together. I am very excited about this next
phase. We'll
be learning more
about Nia's nine movement forms in a new routine
called Zensations. We'll explore our moving
anatomies from the inside out in
a new routine called Canta. And we'll explore our
creative and fitness edges with lots of surprises.
