Blue Heron Ranch Studio is a 1500 square-foot creative movement
space with 16 foot ceilings, a sprung-wood floating dance floor
a mirrored wall. It has beautiful natural light and an ambiance
of comfort and creativity, perfect for the practice and exploration
of Nia as well as other creative movement forms.

WORKSHOPS AND SPECIAL EVENTS
Saturday Sept. 28th Nia and Drumming - The holistic expression of Rhythm with Simone LaDrumma and Randee Fox, Sammamish
Join Randee Fox and Seattle drumming icon, Simone LaDrumma for an expressive and rhythm-focused movement and drumming workshop. Surrender yourself to Nia's expressive joy of movement in an hour-long rhythm- focused Nia class followed by a 1.5 hour "How to feel the rhythm" drumming class with Simone La Drumma. This workshop is for everybody at any fitness level and at any (or no) drumming level. You'll learn the foundation of Nia as well as basic hand drumming technique and exciting rhythms on Afro-Cuban congas and African djembes (supplied or bring your own)*. All this happens in a gorgeous environment surrounded by nature on a horse ranch in Sammamish. Cost $40.00. ($35 for Blue Heron Ranch cardholders). For NIA only: $15 ($10 for Blue Heron cardholders). This 1.5 hour special class with Black Belt teacher, Randee Fox, will start with 45 minutes of Nia's Five Stages of Self-Healing, a self-guided process, moving you through the stages of embryonic, creeping, crawling, standing and walking. Physical modeling, guided imagery, the sensation of comfort and pleasure, Your Body's Way of moving and The Voices of The Body's Way, become the tools you use to self-guide your process. Every practice results in realigning and restructuring the whole body and, in an immediate renewed sense of wholeness, health and well being. After we will have a traditional and energetic Nia class. Nia & Horses
Nia & Horses is an equestrian educational
program blending of the Nia principles into Randee Fox’s
well-established program ‘Educating Humans for Horses’. This
program is fun and beneficial for equestrian students as
well as the horses. Every program is designed to meet the
needs of the individual horse handler, beginning to
advanced, and their goals. The initial focus is on the horse
handler being attuned to their own moment-to- moment
physical sensations while developing a keen awareness of the
horse's rhythms and gaits. This allows the equestrian to
move with the horse's powerful circular flow. This blending
of Nia and equestrian activities is opening pathways for us
to discover the true joys and pleasures of being in a
horse-human relationship. Lessons are given on our wonderful

Nia
is an exhilarating, expressive fusion movement class incorporating
dance, the martial arts and the healing arts. Nia addresses the

Randee Fox is a Certified Black Belt Nia instructor, artist, and equestrian. She owns and operates The Blue Heron Ranch Moving Arts Center teaching both NIa and equestrian activities. She also has a dance background in African Dance forms and brings a quality of grounded playful energy into her artistically-inspired high energy, creative classes.
